Sunday, June 15th, we gathered at the home of Federico Grasso, Silvio Grasso Cantina, excellent producer of La Morra (CN) for the annual barbecue after the "Tasting the vineyards" ( http://tinyurl .com/55kags ).

As usual, we compare foods and wines.

Among the foods were tasted the bacon, the brawn, the Biroldo from Tuscany, mortadella Pasquini, Speck and Bacon Lorenzo D'Osvaldo.

In comparison, on a grilled sirloin Argentine steak and Chianina steak Mucco Pisano.

The meats were all very good, homemade, no preservatives, very particular Biroldo with pig's blood taste very strong and special.

Among the meats, my favorite has always been to finish in the Chianina grid is also excellent that the pile Pisano, slightly stringy, but the sirloin is very tasty.

1) Barola Giacosa 1999: brick red, the nose enough alcohol in your mouth you could see a certain age, even better if you take it to a good braised or stewed. +1 Rating IHV

2) Waxing Germano Barolo 1999: brick red, the nose came a certain fart, a little small. The mouth feel was still a neat little wine. Rated -1 IHV

3) Aldo Conterno 1999 Barolo Bussia Soprana: brighter color of the background, the nose a little dirty, but in the mouth came out a good wine. Not harmonious. 0 Rating IHV.

4) 1999 Cabernet cellar of a Hungarian I can not remember the name. Very closed, almost hermetic. Rated IHV +1.

5) Clos Vougeot Pinot Noir 1999: Very dark color, mistaken for a shiraz. Good nose and harmonious in the mouth. Rated IHV +1.

6) 1999 Felsina Maestro Raro Cabernet clear and obvious, even if a little aged, very good. +2 Rating IHV

7) Merlot Germano 2004: Now named as Bordeaux, I have mistaken for a blend with Cabernet, sentivol'erbaceo, very good. +2 Rating IHV

8) Bruno Elio Altare 1999 Nebbiolo net, very good color and fragrance, a long life ahead, I never said it was a '99. Some have heard a hint of Cap, I 's got a very sharp wood. It was part of a magnum that was doubled, no one has heard in the other bottle cap! :-). +2 Rating IHV

9) Vitiano Falesco: A little closed, I have taken for a very ripe Pinot Noir, but still very good. +2 Rating IHV

10) 1999 Boldo Tremonti: Definitely a trap, the wine was closed and the brick red, I could not baptized, but I liked it enough. At the time, had a good assessment of the Gambero Rosso. +1 Rating IHV

11) Pinot Noir Chandon de Savigny Brialles Aux Fourneau 1999: Nice color, still quite dark, fine fragrances, yet tannic in the mouth, a sign of a long life ahead. +2 Rating IHV

12) Volpaia Balif: Baptized such as Sangiovese, very close to the nose, mouth was rough, not like a lot. Rated IHV -1.

13) Colonel Aldo Conterno 1999 Barolo: One of the wines that I liked more, still fresh, good flavors and very balanced in the mouth. Rated +2 + IHV

14) Castel del Monte Rosso: Not identified, not even I tried. Very close with some fart that jumped out. Rated -1 IHV

15) Rousseau Ruchottes-Chambertin Pinot Noir 1999: Pinot Nero clear and obvious, a beautiful nose, mouth in shame that has given substance to the expectations. +1 Rating IHV

16) Pinot Noir Mazoyeres Perrot-Minot 1999: Again, the Pinot Noir was quick out. Good in good nose and mouth. Balanced. +1 Rating IHV

17) Avvoltore MorisFarm: Stage!! an examination, wanted by force, however, denoted a good quality.

18) Pinot Noir Pommard "Pezerolles Montilles" 1999: Very good, even this PN. The type comes out great. Rated +1 + IHV

19) Arborina Elio Altare 1999: Here I struggled to recognize the Nebbiolo, the wine was still very dark, smells quite fruity, very tannic in the mouth. 1 vote IHV

20) Chateau Montrose 1999: Bordeaux very elegant, still young in the mouth, the fruit was very fresh. +1 Rating IHV

21) Trapet Chambertin Rossignol-1999: One of the best wines of the day. Great balance between nose and mouth. Incredible cleaning wine again because when we went to visit the winery was the one with the most barrels full of mold all. Rated +2 + IHV

22) Nobile di Montepulciano Riserva Fatt.del Cerro: Sangiovese (Blackthorn) jumps out to big, rough and very tannic in the mouth. Not exactly pleasant. 0 Rating IHV

23) Arborina Elio Altare 1999: II Magnum brought another bottle of helium, it remains very tannic, because I do not know if good came after PN, but it seemed less than the previous bottle. 0 Rating IHV

24) Brunate Elio Altare 1999: second bottle as I said before, no one has heard the cap, the air did him good, the wood had been built giving it a much better softness present. +1 Rating IHV

25) Silvio Grasso Barolo Ciabot Manzoni 1999: well-made wine, balanced and enjoyable. +1 Rating IHV

26) Faurie Hermitage 1999: The result above all, young wine, I took him (a little joke) for a Lacrima di Morro. Very Pleasant. 0 Rating IHV

27) Germano Barolo Pra Po 1999: Very good, now put their nose to the purple, not too dark, in the mouth a great balance and elegance. +2 Rating IHV

28) Shiraz 2004 Germano: SGAM now, very typical, but also a great wine. It looks great Cote Rotie. Rated +2 + IHV

29) Barolo Bricco Luciani Silvio Grasso 1999: Here too, one of the most delicious of the day. Elegance and softness of the most striking features. This wine of the owners deserve a place in the Olympus of the wines. +3 Rating IHV

30) In San Giusto a Rentennano 1999: After the Bricco Luciani has a lean figure, with hindsight one would have deserved the highest rating, but at the moment ... 0 Rating IHV

31) Nebbiolo Val de Matteo Preti Correggia 1999: one of the last made by poor Matthew. Little or nothing to envy to Bricco Luciani, my vote was in fact equal. Rated 32 IHV +3

Together Silvio Grasso 1999: Another great wine tasting at the end says it all! Good flavors and enough fat in the mouth. Rated IHV +2
