Broken Capillary Shoulders

Create documents in PDF

First question: Why?
  • because your document is printed in the same way on any printer, unfortunately with Office documents is not so, especially if they are text on multiple pages
  • because your document can be changed (useful for email delivery of invoices, manuals, etc.).
  • because in Office documents often get information that should be private (see file properties) and in pdf disappear. Attivissimo talk about this issue in paragraph 11 of his precious dodecalogo safety.
  • because he makes more professional ;-)
Second question: How?
There are several free and convenient way to do this: use
  • OpenOffice ver. 2.0.3, which saves with a convenient button in pdf (both Win and Mac)
  • use PDFCreator ver. 0.9.2, software in Italian (Win only), which simulates a printer that allows you to put protections in documents, such as "Do not print", "do not copy and paste" this type of printer simulators are very comfortable because can be used in all programs that allow you to print, that is all.
  • use the site PDF-o-matic in English in pdf format to save web pages that interest you.
  • PDFonline use the site in English in pdf format to save the files on your PC. Manages the most common formats (max 2 Mb) and sends the resulting PDF file to your email address.
  • use File-Print dialog Mac OSX (Mac only, which for a long time has this feature embedded, that is nested, that is available directly in the know)
To save a document in pdf using PDFCreator, all you need is a document open, go to File-Print, select the PDFCreator printer and click OK, after a few seconds will open the PDFCreator window, click Ok and the file will be saved in pdf.

There are many free programs to save to PDF on Windows, Robin Good talks about here.

NB remember that it is very easy to crack a pdf document with protections.
NB2. I remember that in the case of manuals, brochures, reports, etc.. use a watermark (Watermark) is highly recommended.
